The Epiphany That Changed My Life

Even executive coaches have leadership blind spots — here’s mine.
When I first started my career, I was teaching a class on giving feedback. At the end of the session, a participant walked up to me and said, “You must have been a great lawyer.”
I remember thinking, proudly, “Yes. Yes, I was. How wonderful that he noticed.”
It took until the next morning for the truth to land — hard: That was not a compliment.
At that moment, I realized the way I was showing up wasn’t the compassionate, grounded leader I wanted to be. I was showing up as the stereotypical aggressive lawyer. That realization shifted everything. It became the spark that pulled me deeper into leadership development, human behavior, and the lifelong work of showing up with intention.
And here’s the part I want to underline:
We all have blind spots. Even coaches. Even seasoned executives. Even the leaders who look like they have it all figured out from the outside.
If you feel the gap between where you are and the leader you want to be — you’re not alone.
If stepping into your full leadership potential with greater clarity, confidence, and presence is a priority, contact me to set up a conversation.
